Contact Lens Fitting And Eye Examination (Age 9 or above)

Contact Lens Fitting And Eye Examination (Age 9 or above) requires 90 minutes, which includes assessment of eye health before contact lens fitting. We also provide follow ups on contact lens wear. You will get a HKD$180 product voucher after the examination.

(For children aged below 9, please schedule a Children Comprehensive Eye Examination or Myopia Control Consultation first. Our Optometrists will evaluate whether contact lens fitting is recommended.)

Service include: Comprehensive eye examination and contact lens fitting (rigid gas permeable (RGP) lens and specialty contact lenses are excluded)

1) Comprehensive Eye Examination

• Case history
    - Identify visual problems and symptoms of eye diseases, understand the reason for contact lens wear.

• Refraction check*
    - Measurement of Myopia,Hyperopia, Astigmatism, etc. Select suitable contact lens for correction.

• Visual acuity test
    - Evaluate the optimal corrected vision and determine the most suitable prescription for contact lens correction.

• Intra-ocular pressure (IOP) measurement
    - Rise in IOP may result in Glaucoma which may cause blindness if left untreated.

• Binocular vision assessment
    - Visual function assessment on squint, accommodation (ability in changing focus) and motility (alignment of eyes in tracking target). Binocular vision problems may lead to tired eyes, blurry vision and double vision.

• Colour vision test
    - Test on ability to differentiate colors, colour vision problem may be genetic.

• Stereopsis (depth perception)
    - Healthy stereoscopic vision enables accurate judgement of distance, improve athletic performance, and safety in daily life.

• Slit lamp examination on outer and inner eye structures
    - Assessment of dry eyes, corneal health, cataract, etc.

• Dilated fundus examination (retina image capture with digital fundus camera)
    - Assess the macula and retina health and high resolution digital retinal image is captured for photo documentation.

• Consultation and recommendation
    - Evaluate the quality and quantity of tears and assess corneal health. Suggest suitable contact lens types.

2) Contact Lens Fitting

• Measurement of Corneal Curvature (Karatometry)
    - For selection of best fit contact lens base curvature

• Contact Lens Trial and Fitting
    - Put on the trial lenses and experience the wearing comfort and visual quality

• Contact Lens fitting evaluation and Contact Lens Care knowledge (including lens insertion and removal skills and daily handling procedures)
    - Evaluate the stability and vision of contact lens wear, give instructions on lens insertion and removal skills and daily handling procedures

*Important Reminder: Pupil dilation maybe needed during eye exam. We suggest you to put on sunglasses, avoid driving, using computer and reading after eye examination. In general, ocular function will resume normal after 4-6 hours.

Voucher Validity Period: 90 days after issue.
